This home is perched on the hill in Hout Bay overlooking the famous Hout Bay harbour and Little Lions Head. Being part of a company like The Excellence Group means that we are given exposure to even more projects that our partner companies are working on! This was the perfect example of this project -where Spotlight Joinery, another company partnered with The Excellence Group, received a brief to create a custom kitchen and various other joinery elements throughout the home.
Part of the scope of the brief was to complete various vanity units through the en suites and guest powder rooms. While Spotlight Joinery built the base units, they turned to us for help in fitting out the vanity countertops.
The beauty of our surfacing solution is that they are hardwearing and hygienic. The vanity countertops become completely impermeable to any sort of moisture or bacteria- making it not only incredibly hygienic but it means that the base units that Spotlight Joinery made, will last longer as they won’t receive any sort of moisture seeping through the top.
Our solid surfacing is easily malleable meaning that we can create bespoke designs and fit unique spatial requirements. In this home, the homeowners wanted a countertop in their bedroom en suites that also acted as a backsplash. Because of the ease that our solid surfacing can be morphed, it means that we could create a curve from the countertop to the backsplash that is seamless. This not only results in an aesthetically pleasing end result but due to the lack of joins and therefore a lack of a sharp corner, cleaning these countertops is as easy as one wipe down and you’re done!
Working so closely with Spotlight Joinery meant that we were able to colour match the countertops with the joinery elements. The homeowner wanted to create a fresh and clean feeling through the home and paired back their choices for the solid surfacing finish choices. We polished them so that they give off a slight reflection that also increases the hygiene aspect of the surfacing. In the unlikely event that our surfacing does get chipped, it is as simple as us coming out to the home and repolishing the surface to reinstate the seamless and impervious vanity.
This project is a great example of teamwork and the benefits of working together with our fellow companies that are partnered with The Excellence Group. We are incredibly happy with how it turned out and that we were able to be part of such a wonderful residential project.
